Fans of superstar rapper Eminem are set to lose themselves in the music when the king of rap returns to Brisbane to perform at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC) on February 20, 2019.
The 15-time Grammy award-winning American rapper, songwriter and record producer is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with 220 million records sold globally, thanks to hit singles like ‘My Name Is’, ‘Stan’ and ‘Lose Yourself’.
His tenth studio album ‘Kamikaze’ was number one on the Australian Albums chart for four consecutive weeks, with the single ‘Killshot’ scoring the highest 24-hour YouTube debut for a hip-hop video.
QSAC manager Mirella Taylor said up to 50,000 fans flocked to see Eminem when he headlined the Rapture Festival in Brisbane in 2014 and it was clear his popularity continued to rise.
“Eminem is one of the most influential artists of his genre and he’s popular with a really varied crowd thanks to his collaborations with a diverse range of artists like Dr Dre, Elton John and Rihanna, so we’re expecting a good crowd and a fantastic event,” Ms Taylor said.
“He will be the latest in a string of high profile artists to perform at the stadium, including U2, Pearl Jam, ACDC and most recently Guns N Roses, which was a great success we can’t wait to repeat,” she said. Paul Dainty, President and CEO of TEG DAINTY said the artist was no stranger to selling out Australian stadium shows in less than 10 minutes.
"Eminem is a global superstar and his live shows are phenomenal, we're proud to once again present his Australian tour."
